If ever I’ve had a family session that encompasses life with little ones this is it. This family is so very special to me as that sweet momma of 3 boys and 1 girl is one of my dearest friends. We’ve known each other for over 20 years and she is like a sister to me.  I’m honored to take their family photos and if you haven’t already figured out, they are pretty awesome people. As I’m sure, most of us remember or have heard about the “2 year old faze”, they are busy and pretty much run the show, it’s such a busy time of life, but it’s gone before we know it.

A family of free spirits and lots of laughs… life is to short, have fun, laugh, love and enjoy the ride.

Joy Session – Rock Siblings – Kansas Photographer

The evening started out pretty cloudy and honestly I wasn’t sure that we would see the sun, but as God loves to prove me wrong over and over, the sun peeked out right at sunset and made for some great golden hour sunset photos.

What I can tell you about the Rock kids is they like to laugh. A very playful family who ended up laughing so hard while holding their brother that, yes, they dropped him. But he was a trooper and no one got hurt other than their bellies from laughing 🙂

A fun sibling session before big brother went off to college. As much as these kiddos can get on each other’s nerves, they do truly love each other. We laughed a lot, were extremely goofy and had a beautiful sunset for some great silhouette shots, AND lots of hugs and kisses too!! Good luck in school this year to all of you! ❤

This sweet little lady just had her first birthday AND she literally just started walking, so we were super excited to get a wobbly first step photo in her #1 KSU jersey! Go CATS! This little angel loved her balloons and of course the super awesome cake 🙂 Thank you mom and dad for trusting me with your baby girl  <3.

Style Session – Kansas Flint Hills – Kansas Photographers

I will be partial to this post as this is my daughter. Adventurer at heart and laughter is a must, she is brilliant and she is beautiful.  We frequently travel to the Flint Hills as we have family within 5 miles of this spot. I’ve never taken photos up here other than nature photography, but this weekend, we made it happen. As we were down at the family farm visiting grandpa and grandma, I told Abby to throw in a dress and we’d just see what happens and if we can make time for it. I’m so glad we did. One of my biggest challenges as a photographer has been transitioning from nature photography to people photography and how do I blend them well. How do I make the land look beautiful and the person look beautiful. It’s a balance as one cannot overtake the other. She’s just beautiful and this place, well you can see. Blessings.
