Abilene KS Tornado 2016

As I’ve lived in Kansas my whole life I have never seen a tornado until this past May. It completely took my breath away. As my mind was wrapped in amazement and fear, it was such a strange moment, a humbling moment and something I will never forget. Below are the photos of the storm cell going over Abilene and below them is a video of the actual tornado that I saw.

Engagement Session with Katelyn & Thomas

It’s days like this I can’t believe I’m even paid to do this for a living. It’s not very often that I get to use rope, bullets, bows and antlers in a photo shoot. These two where so much fun. Their love is so evident. I’m beyond excite to shoot their wedding later on this fall. Katelyn & Thomas thank you for trusting me with capturing you love and laughter.

The Fink Family

I don’t know that we could ask for a more perfect day for a photo shoot. It was such a typical Kansas spring late afternoon, clouds started moving in, a bit windy. The colors were gorgeous and the family was so much fun. I enjoyed spending the afternoon with you all capturing your families sweet smiles and pure joy and laughter.  Thank you for trusting me with your photos.

Finding Beauty from Ashes

Kansas has experienced quite a few wild fires this spring which as caused a lot of damage to crops as well as some lost buildings, bridges, etc.

But in the eerie pink smoke filled skies I chose to see blooms, budding, new beginnings, regrowth… Finding beauty from ashes…. Praying for the many families effected by the fires.
